Alan the School Janitor
When you finish, read the whole story aloud.
Alan puts on his brown coat and opens the school. He arrives before eight, while it is still quiet. He walks through the rooms to check everything. In one classroom, he notices water on the floor. A pipe is leaking, so he quickly turns off the water. He gets his tools and repairs the broken pipe. Then Alan starts cleaning the wet floor. The children wait outside until it is dry. Soon, they can go inside and begin their lesson. At lunchtime, Alan walks across the playground. He picks up some paper near the school gate. A girl has lost her bag, and he helps her find it. The school day finishes at four. Alan checks the rooms and locks the doors. He goes home feeling tired but happy.
