Choosing a Present
Choose who you want to be.
Philip
Have you chosen a present for your mum?
Janet
Not yet. I’d like something she’ll use.
Philip
How much are you planning to spend?
Janet
About thirty pounds, including a card.
Philip
What about a book on gardening?
Janet
She’s already got a shelf full of them.
Philip
Does she need any new gardening tools?
Janet
Perhaps, but I don’t know which ones.
Philip
Then why not buy her a garden voucher?
Janet
Would that seem a bit too impersonal?
Philip
Not if you add a card with a kind note.
Janet
Good idea. Then she can choose herself.
