As he dug, he removed weeds and buried stones. A curious bird followed, searching for worms. Martin laid flat stones to form the garden path. Along its edges, he planted colourful flowers. He chose a sunny spot for a young apple tree. Next, he laid fresh turf around the flowers. He watered everything to help the roots settle. The bird fluttered happily through the spray. After clearing up, Martin showed the owner around. She was delighted with the garden’s new look. Seeing her smile made his hard work worthwhile.
