Alan the School Janitor
When you finish, read the whole story aloud.
Alan works at a busy school. He wears a brown coat each day. He opens the doors before eight. Alan walks through every room. He checks the lights and the windows. One classroom floor is very wet. A water pipe has started to leak. Alan turns the water off at once. He fixes the pipe with his tools. Then he cleans the wet classroom. The children wait outside the room. Soon the floor is clean and dry. At lunch, Alan checks the playground. He picks up paper near the gate. He helps a child find her lost bag. The school day ends at four. Alan locks the doors and goes home. He has had a busy but good day.
