Kevin arrives early for his new course. He pauses outside the classroom door. Inside, he notices a seat near the front. Kevin enters and walks across the room. He chooses the empty seat and sits down. Then he places his backpack by the desk. Kevin studies the new faces around him. Several students chat in small groups. A friendly woman takes the seat beside him. Kevin introduces himself with a warm smile. She replies and says that her name is Anna. They discuss why they joined the course. Their teacher enters with a pile of books. She writes her name clearly on the board. She greets everyone and closes the door. The conversations stop and people face her. Kevin listens carefully to the teacher. Although nervous, he feels ready to begin.
